How can we help?

Help & Support

Welcome to the LorryWatch Help Centre. Below you'll find guidance for configuring cameras, DVLA lookup, notifications, vehicle records, and understanding the system’s operation.

System Concept

LorryWatch identifies unauthorised commercial vehicles ( N1, N2, N3) on restricted roads using ANPR cameras and DVLA lookups. Weight limits and direction filters further enhance detection accuracy.

Cloud Solution Overview

The cloud platform supports multiple customers, each with their own locations, cameras, vehicles and owners. Everything is centrally managed through an online dashboard.

Camera Configuration & Validation

Cameras must be validated using an MD5-based validation code. Customers with LorryWatch-purchased cameras receive validation for free. Camera settings include type filters, direction indicators, and abbreviation tags.

Notification Settings

Notification options include:

  • Vehicle type detection ( N1, N2, N3)
  • Revenue weight check
  • Custom weight limit values
  • Direction-based filters
  • Email and push notifications

DVLA Lookup Settings

Customers must enter their DVLA API key to enable classification. Without this key, the system only records plates.

Email Settings

Email notifications are delivered using MailJet. Customers must enter their MailJet username and password to activate email alerts.

Vehicle & Owner Management

Each vehicle can belong to one owner. Vehicles include plate, make, model, and list membership such as whitelist or blacklist.

Auto-Purge & Data Management

Auto-purge can be enabled to automatically delete older captured logs and optimize database storage.

Plate Log Viewer

The Plate Log Viewer provides navigation for viewing historical records:

  • Previous day
  • Previous week
  • Previous month
  • Today’s entries

Users can print logs, export them as CSV, or save them as PDF.

Customer Accounts & Login

LorryWatch supports both email-based and ID-based login. Admins can access all customers, locations, and camera configurations.
